Tender & Davit System

Surfrider is equipped with a 2004 Zodiac Yachtline 380 DL rigid inflatable tender, measuring 12 feet 6 inches in length and powered by a 2005 Mercury 40 HP four-stroke outboard. The tender provides dependable transportation for shore excursions, snorkeling, diving, exploring secluded anchorages, or serving as a capable support boat while cruising. The survey notes the Zodiac’s fiberglass hull, PVC inflatable tubes, five-person capacity, and Mercury propulsion.

In the first quarter of 2026, the tender received a comprehensive professional service to ensure it is ready for its next owner. The inflatable tubes were professionally inspected, re-glued, and serviced, restoring the integrity of all bonded seams and extending the service life of the tender. During the same period, the Mercury 40 HP outboard underwent a complete mechanical service, including fresh engine and gearcase lubricants, new water pump impeller, filters, and routine maintenance, ensuring dependable operation and reliability.

The tender is securely carried on the foredeck in a custom cradle and is serviced by an electric-powered davit, allowing one person to launch and retrieve it with ease. This arrangement keeps the swim platform and cockpit completely unobstructed while maintaining immediate access whenever the tender is needed.

The Zodiac has long been one of the owner’s favorite features—large enough to comfortably transport family, guests, diving equipment, or provisions, yet compact enough to store securely on the foredeck without compromising visibility or deck access. It perfectly complements Surfrider’s capabilities for extended cruising, island exploration, and life at anchor.
