Over Two Decades of Care
A family-owned Hatteras with a documented history of thoughtful maintenance, active cruising, and long-term stewardship.
From Surfrider II to today’s Surfrider, our family’s boating traditions continue.
The Surfrider Story
A Legacy of Family Ownership
Surfrider has remained in the same family for nearly two decades, a rarity among classic Hatteras yachts. Rather than changing hands every few years, she has benefited from consistent ownership, thoughtful upgrades, and continuous preventative maintenance by owners who intended to keep her—not simply prepare her for resale.
Freshwater Years
For much of our ownership, Surfrider lived in a covered freshwater boathouse in the Pacific Northwest.
For much of our ownership, Surfrider was kept inside a covered freshwater boathouse in the Pacific Northwest—an environment that dramatically reduced long-term exposure to salt, UV radiation, and weather. This protected both her cosmetics and mechanical systems while helping preserve the yacht for decades to come..
A New Life in Hawaii
In 2021, Surfrider was professionally transported from Washington State to Oahu.
Rather than purchasing another yacht after relocating to Hawaii, we chose to transport Surfrider across the Pacific because we knew her history, trusted her systems, and believed she was worth preserving.
Since arriving in Hawaii she has cruised extensively throughout the Hawaiian Islands while continuing to receive professional maintenance and thoughtful upgrades.
Built to Cruise
Surfrider has served as far more than a dockside yacht.
Surfrider has cruised extensively throughout the Pacific Northwest, including the protected waters of Washington and British Columbia, before beginning a new chapter exploring the Hawaiian Islands. She has proven herself equally comfortable on extended family cruises, offshore fishing adventures, and inter-island passages.
A Fully Documented Yacht
Unlike many classic yachts, Surfrider is offered with:
- U.S. Coast Guard Documented
- extensive maintenance records
- original manuals
- equipment documentation
- professional survey
- service history
- spare parts inventory
- specialty tools
The next owner won’t be inheriting unknowns.
They’ll be inheriting one of the best-documented Hatteras 60 Convertibles available today.
Looking Ahead
Every great Hatteras has another chapter.
After nearly twenty years of family ownership, Surfrider is ready for her next steward—someone who will appreciate her proven pedigree, continue her tradition of careful maintenance, and create a new generation of memories aboard one of Hatteras’ most respected classic convertibles.
